Paris Hilton’s Dubai BFF may air in late 2010

A Canadian newspaper recently reported comments about Paris Hilton and the Dubai BFF show by one of the Dubai BFFs, Gelareh Monajemi:

Monajemi said the typical content of the [Dubai BFF] show was altered to respect Middle Eastern sensitivities.

“There was an Emirati always on set to inspect wardrobe,” she said.

“Cleavage (wasn’t) allowed. Whereas the ones (filmed) in the (United) States had girls running around in bikinis.”

Monajemi said she didn’t agree to audition for the show because she wanted to be Hilton’s best friend.

“I never got along with girls when I was growing up,” she said, adding she has two brothers — one who’s going into Grade 11 at Frontenac Secondary School.

“It taught me how to live in a full house of girls.”

She said her opinion on Hilton changed after her time on the show.

“Before I met her I thought she was an airhead,” Monajemi said.

“She’s so business oriented and very intelligent and sweet. A lot of people don’t know that.”

Monajemi said complications with the television show’s production companies have delayed the airing.

“It was supposed to air last winter,” she said. “Now all they can say is (it will air) at the end of this year.”
