A new documentary about Paris Hilton: “Paris, Not France”

A new documentary about Paris Hilton will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in September: “Paris, Not France.” This doesn’t appear to be like any of those lousy and bias documentaries about Paris that we see all the time. Here’s a little description about it:

Controversy next month, when the director Adria Petty screens her debut at the Toronto film festival. She spent a year with Paris Hilton, and the result, Paris, Not France, is not what Hilton’s people had hoped for. Instead, it is a rather brilliant exposé. Did you know, for instance, that Paris has a very deep voice, is frequently in tears and doesn’t like being a celebrity as much as you might think, and is actually quite a sweetie? No, nor did I.

I think this documentary is supposed to be released worldwide, later on, but I’m not sure. Here’s another interesting description:

Polls show that in certain demographics, more people identify the name Paris with “Hilton” than with “France.” Gaining intimate access to the glamorous and chaotic day-to-day life of one of the world’s biggest icons, director Adria Petty explores the businesswoman and the human being behind the public persona that is Paris Hilton. Modelled after the 1960s “it”-girl film Darling, and featuring additional interviews with Hilton’s family and friends, as well as media experts ranging from Donald Trump to tabloid columnist Richard Johnson, Paris, Not France attempts to explore the Paris phenomenon and how it defines this moment in culture.

The director Adria Petty spent a lot of time with Paris to film the documentary. She started working on it during the making of Paris’ debut album. She’s the one who filmed the Jealousy video clip. In Paris’ album notes, Paris thanked her: “To Adria Petty for always being honest with me and making history.”

Unfortunately, at the moment, there’s not a lot of infomation about “Paris, Not France” on the internet, which is kind of weird.

As for Paris, her popularity and brand is growing bigger every day! I think things are going to change in the world of Paris Hilton. The parody clip has made people talk about her for a while! I know big projects are lined-up, but the new album and TV show are supposed to be out in about a month. I have a feeling that the album will be postponed! I’m worried, because a new single hasn’t even been released yet!

Oh yeah, I found a new article about the debut album. It reveals a lot of information that I had never heard about before. You guys should definitely take some time to read it. It’s a very interesting read. It was written in April 2006. By the way, the second anniversary of the debut album is almost here!

Anyway, we have to keep a close eye on the new documentary! In another news, Paris’ new handbag collection will be launched at Manchester and Hamburg airports. They will sell handbags that are more suited for travellers, I think. Each bag costs about 900$.

Finally, the president of National Lampoon, the company behind “Pledge This!”, said that the lawsuit has nothing to do with them: “This lawsuit is completely independent of our studio and company and is by no means a reflection of our views. Paris Hilton has fulfilled and surpassed all of National Lampoon’s expectations, she is a remarkable person and talent and we are all strong supporters of her Presidential campaign!”

Possibly the media pressured them to say a couple of comments about the lawsuit.

I wrote this post for the second time after the first one, which was longer, got accidentally deleted!

Gah, they should be releasing a promotional single for BFF soon. Are you sure the show was postponed to September 30th? That sucks!

I think for the anniversary of “Paris” I’ll go out and buy a copy! According to http://www.worldwidealbums.com, “Paris” has sold 722,488 copies world wide! Go Paris! 722,488 is so not a flop.

i hope the documentary is not a hatchet job or too gratuitous. when they say it’s not what hilton’s people had hoped for, that doesn’t sound too good…
