Actress Christine Lakin Writes About Paris Hilton On Her MySpace
I finished the THE HOTTIE AND THE NOTTIE movie and they are editing it together and excitedly getting ready to shop it around. It stars myself, opposite Paris Hilton and Joel Moore. I play a seriously ugly chick (aka The Nottie) who has bad skin, balding hairline, moles, snaggletooth, facial hair and a unibrow. Oh and an infected toenail. (check out of the pics on my page for accuracy to that comment) Paris plays the Hottie, duh, and she won’t date until she finds somone for me. Enter Joel Moore. The guy is funny. Even though he picks his nose. What? It’s true. Check him out in Dodgeball. We saw an early cut of the movie and I almost wet my pants. I look like a cavewoman. Don’t worry- I get progressively better but it’s pretty insane. While I’m sort of on the subject, I am going to go ahead and air my thoughts on the Paris issue. Enough people have asked me and whether you care or not… well, read this part or skip it. When I started Hottie and the Nottie, to be honest I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve worked with a lot of “Hollywood” types and Im usually pretty unimpressed by their attitudes or sense of entitlement so I just sort of do my thing and leave them alone… which I was prepared for. But Paris suprised me- she could not have been MORE gracious, kind, generous, inclusive or hard working. She went to a well renowned acting coach for 2 weeks before we started the movie, asked me to rehearse with her and took me to dinner one night just to get to know me. That’s more than I can say for anyone I’ve ever worked with. She worked damn hard on this movie and whether you care for her or not, the notion that she does nothing in life or is stuck up is just plain untrue. Case in point: she jumped out of our transpo van after filming all day on a freezing cliff so three little girls could have their picture taken with her. There were no paparazzi around. She wasn’t doing it for attention. She did it because she knew it would make those little girls’ day. As far as her legal issues go- all I have to say is this: let’s all remember we are not perfect people. We have all done things life- in college or whenever- that we would probably like to readily forget. Luckily we haven’t all been photographed at the lowest points in our lives. It doesn’t mean we dont deserve consequences for our actions, but we also haven’t had the world watching and judging. Take a breath people. You don’t ever know a situation or a person until you REALLY know them… I think we as a society love to tear people down… maybe because it makes us feel better about ourselves, maybe because we are bored, I don’t know. But I think we have to remember those people in the spotlight are people too.. with families and grandmas and siblings… anyway, that’s my piece.
