Dumb public votes Paris Hilton as worst role model

According to an online Wenn.com poll, Paris Hilton was voted the worst celebrity role model. She received 43% of the votes. Lindsay Lohan came in second, followed by TV star Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi.

That’s what you get when you have a news media that only reports negatively about Paris Hilton and other celebrities. A media that dumbs down the public by constantly distorting and trashing their celebrities. Lindsay Lohan is a better role model than Paris Hilton after all the problems she’s facing? Paris may not be perfect, but how about reporting the empire she has built over the years, despite all the crap she gets from the media.

It would have been more appropriate to have the media voted as the #1 worst role model in history.

The whole thing is ridiculous. What about world leaders and politicians that get their countries into illegal wars? Or repress freedom? And cause misery?

Hating on celebrities is so lame. And three women at the top of the list. Of course. How cliche. How unoriginal.

Off the top of my head, I would have picked Mel Gibson. What with the recent leaked phone calls, exposing nasty threats he made to his ex-gf. On top of all his prior racist, homophobic and misogynist rants. But he didn’t even make the top 5 list. Course a lot of the public is racist, homophobic and misogynist.

Part of the problem is that public has such a short memory. It’s been two months since Gibson was in the news. And Paris got arrested just last week.

As far as Lindsay goes, the last time she was arrested was three years ago. But it was a bad one. She hijacked a car and stalked/chased another car, drove to endangerment, while DUI and possessing cocaine.

The arrests of Paris this summer don’t bother me in the least as far as her behavior goes. It bothers me she gets persecuted for it. She was not driving or endangering anyone. IMHO her arrests were for victimless crimes.

But even before Paris’s arrests this summer, I’d still say she was easily the most hated celebrity. Maybe of all time. It’s never changed since the sex tape. Meanwhile, male celebs have sex tapes, and it’s cool.

It is ridiculous and sad. I feel for Paris. As soon as I found out about the most recent arrest, I started showing a lot of love for Paris on my Tumblr page. Since then no one has loved or reblogged anything of mine. Whatever.

Paris will never be free from the world’s hatred. I so wish it were not so. The more they hate her, the more I love her.
