Is “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” doing well?

In a new article, FOX News reported the ratings of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF: “According to Nielsen Ratings, Paris’s new MTV reality show “My BFF” has averaged just 1.4 million in its two episodes so far, which is quite a fall from the debut of her first reality show “The Simple Life” back in 2003 which garnered 13 million.”

The author of the article, Hollie McKay, compares Paris’ show with MTV’s “The Hills,” which attracted 3.48 million viewers. In two interviews, Paris said that the show was doing very well.

Well, first of all, you can’t compared “My New BFF” with the Simple Life. The latter aired on FOX which is a huge network, compared to MTV. So it’s a bit deceptive to say that it “is quite a fall from” the Simple Life. I hate when they do that. In the past, these journalists even compared the ratings of the fifth season of the  Simple Life with the first season. E! can’t attract 13 million viewers, like FOX!

Anyway, so I decided to do a bit a research to compare My BFF’s ratings with other MTV shows.

8.4 million viewers tuned to watch the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. The Hills attracts on average between 3 million and 4 million viewers. And another MTV show named “America’s Best Dance Crew” once drew 2.3 million viewers, which was considered as “good news” for MTV, according to an article. So I don’t know.

In other news, an elderly woman is selling the white chair that Paris sat on while she was filming her first presidental video. Check it out on eBay.

Also “SL” debuted right after that whole sex tape scandal happened. And scandal ALWAYS means attention ya know? The scandal drew attention to the show I think…People like to pay attention to scandalous things/people.

whatever, you can’t expect mtv to draw the same numbers as a major network, btut am surpised the hill is doing better. i think the real comparison is to what other shows did when they were new in their first season. hills haas been on for awhile now and has a following. also, it seams paris is the only one promoting the show. why isn’t mtv doing more to promote it? it seems like TH&TN all other again where someone starts a project on paris’ name and then leave all the promotion up to her.

Paris said they filmed it in her parents beverly hills home in the back yard. And that signature is soo fake!

Isn’t this Paris’ “best kept secret?” The amount of hype and press she gets far exceeds the results and audiences of her projects. This is not a bad thing, especially if she uses the hype to expand her businesses. I remember Larry King expected huge numbers and only got about 3mm similar to what he got for Star Jones. Put another way, 99% of USA didn’t watch one of the most hyped interviews ever. The Hottie numbers, etc. Although she wasn’t dropped from warner records, it seems like the label has chosen not to support her album, which is what the label President said last year. The BFF show is getting numbers similar to Denise Richards, which was possibly getting cancelled, and Richards’ show is on E, a smaller network.

Again, it’s not a knock on Paris. I think it’s fun to watch and shows how smart she really is in that she’s interesting enough to keep the media following her every move without a huge fan base for her projects. She can still do fun projects that she likes and her fans appreciate and then use all the attention to help her business.

America’s Best Dance Crew is a really popular show in America Enkil. It’s something all teens watch here and it’s realllly fun to watch.

1.4 Million views is good for MTV, plus The Hills is a really popular show which is an anchor for MTV and has been known for years. A lot of my friends hate Paris and watch the show and there like “OMG I hate Paris but I can’t stop watching this show!”

ALSO! : Yesterday I went to Southcenter Mall (The mall Paris is coming too) and bought Fairy Dust! They said they just got it two days ago! The bottle is SUPER cool looking in person, its the best looking bottle yet FOR SURE. The perfume itself is alright, it’s not Paris’ best but its still good. It smells a lot like the perfume “Juicy Couture”

I gave it to my friend as as early birthday present and she loves it a lot! I also got a free Paris purse and gave it to her as well. I shouldv\e taken pictures haha

Hey,

I’ve been hooked on the Repo! CD, too! I’m starting to like almost all of the songs. I’m starting to like Sarah Brightman a lot! It’s really a good soundtrack with awesome music. I’m definitely going to make another post about it soon.
