Lawsuit exceeds $75 000

Yesterday, the Associated Press reported that Paris Hilton was being sued for 75 000$ by Worldwide Entertainment Group, but this information is incorrect.

Attorney Michael Goldberg, who has filed suit against Paris Hilton and her company, Paris Hilton Entertainment, is seeking millions of dollars in lost profit over the lack of promotion by Paris.

Goldberg states that Paris didn’t honor her contract: “We are seeking our lost profits, which we believe to be in the millions of dollars. Hilton failed to attend any talk shows or telephonic or in-person interviews.”

Well, the media is trying to get some comments from Paris’ team regarding the lawsuit, but they haven’t responded. I can’t believe this is happening over some ridiculous movie. I doubt that Pledge This! would’ve been a success even if Paris had massively promoted it. That’s just my opinion and of course, these not real arguments against the lawsuit.

Also, earlier this week, there were certain rumours/articles claiming that Paris broke up with Benji Madden. I was shocked (but not surprised) to see this story appear in my local newspaper. It was funny, because a few days later, new pictures of Paris and Benji together appeared on the internet.

This latest lawsuit story also spread quite fast. Yesterday, someone asked me if the break-up story was true. Today, someone else asked me about the lawsuit story. This just shows that negative articles gain more attention than positive ones. And it’s incredible how fast negative articles spread and how everyone hears/read about them!

The lawsuit gets more and more outrageous. There’s no way that Pledge This would have had the kind of success to warrant Paris losing millions over it now. I hope this goes in Paris’s favour.

I don’t know what’s more laughable: the same sites/sources always jumping to conclusions and claiming the same things over and over, or the same gullible people jumping to believe it… over and over.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t believe for an instant that had Paris massively promoted PT that it would’ve garnered enough success for Paris to be sued for millions over it today. I fully believe she’s being targeted especially for them to have waited two years to file suit. Please!

Of course the negativity spreads quicker than the positive stories. That’s unfortunately always the case especially when it comes to Paris.

Paris gets targeted by the press while other celebs get away with really crazy stuff.
It’s unfortunate.and I hope Paris comes out the winner in this.

Also, no amount of extra appearances by Paris could have saved this movie.

“Hottie” was a really god movie by comparison, and it still did not draw the crowds it should have, due to its limited release.

OK. She is being sued by a bankrupt company.
Being “in receivership” means they are in bk court. This is a desperate attempt to get money. But throwing money at a bk corporation would be STUPID.

Also, Hilton Entertainment is presumably a corporation.So Paris has the corporate umbrella protection.

Actually, what she could do is simply start another corporation with a slightly different name and pull all the money out of the first corporation. It’s like Monopoly.

My dad just remarked that this lawsuit seems similar to the suit which was filed against Nicky Hilton by a bk builder. That case was thrown out.

all i can say is that after last year’s jail fiasco she had better take any legal issue more seriously than she has in the past. to fight this, she better have a great attorney who specializes in this type of case. no more “generalists” like howard weitzman who totally botched her case last year.

even if it appears frivouls, we don’t know what her conttract required her to do. so she better fight and not take for granted she won’t be liable just because the movie sucked. saying it was so bad, no promotion would have helped it is not a legal defense if she failed to honor any of her obligations. a judge won’t like that response from her either becasue it could come accross as cavalier. and we all saw what happens when a judge gets ticked at paris
