MAJOR Career Announcement From Paris Hilton On Award Day!

Ah! I completely ignored this one when I first heard about it, but someone (Clarke) emailed me about it and showed me a reliable source.

On February 8th, after accepting the Harvard Lampoon award, “Paris will then give the most important announcement of her career to date.”

Hrmmmmm, hrmmm! What could it be?! Clarke thinks it may be about a “Hotel in Boston? Nightclub in Boston? New album? New book? Donation to Harvard?”

And I was thinking… maybe a musical performance? Or perhaps it’s going to be related to her movie career? Or… Oh, it’s hard to say since her career plans are always a secret. It could be a charity foundation or something, but it’d weird to announce it like that.

Any more ideas?!

According to Harvard Lampoon, she will receive “an award better than or equal to “Woman of the Year.””

According to one of my private sources, it might actually be about real estates. Remember when she was talking about Hotel Paris? But I can’t say for sure. And it may also be something major related to charity and helping people.

I was personally thinking, if it’s a major announcement, then it has to be related to her music career since it’s her #1 priority. It can’t be a music tour because she’s no longer promoting her debut album. Neither can it be a second album or anything about music, because I highly doubt the second CD is ready for a release. Maybe a new single, maybe…

Also, remember last summer when she said she was working with X-Men director on a new superhero movie? It could be that.

I don’t really consider real estate as a very exciting project (for fans), but I’m sure she considers it something huge for her.

UGH, real estate is lame. It’s something big for her business but not for her fans!

I wish at least a couple demos or something would leak, or news on a new single. Wasn’t she suppose to record her first single with Sash!, or work with Storch in Miami? I haven’t seen any of these, and it’s been one and half year since her debut album. If Britney can put out on a album in the state she is in now than Paris can definitively come out with a album now.

Seriously, how would Paris in a nightclub, wherever, warrant an announcement? How would it be different than the last months/years? Instead of going to clubs/restaurants across the world, she’ll just focus on Vegas? Strange. is she going to perform with someone like Criss Angel? ugghh, no.

It kind of reminds me of the stories of old boxers or athletes who had to hang out in Vegas casino’s restaurants and lobbies to make money when they retired. Doesn’t sound good.

btw, if she makes a major announcement at Lampoon’s she and/or her pr people need to retake public relations 101. (Don’t make a “serious” announcement when you’re the butt of the joke, even if you’re in on the joke.)

Is it possible that she really was dropped by her label? The label head said that he wasn’t going to drop her, but that her singing career would “die quietly” Also, Storch is in some alleged serious $$$ problems. Wouldn’t he have received some $$$/advance from her next project if it was going forward? just wondering.

Been to Vegas lately? It’s very upscale and Paris packs in the crowds whenever she’s there. I could see her getting her own show. But we’re all just speculating, let’s jut wait and see.

Paris was never dropped by her label. I’m 150% sure. As far as I know, Warner Music hasn’t discussed about Paris’ music career since August 2006 (no press releases). Since then, I haven’t found a quote by them on a reliable site. If I remember correctly, an article stated that her music career would die quietly. It was from a fake site, dailystar.co.uk (if I remember correctly). Someone at dailystar.co.uk email me and said the quotes were made by Ollie Wilson.

Anyway, here’s a finale predication from me: a musical theatre starring Paris. Oh yes, I remember reading about this. She was going to play a musical role, but it conflicted with another project (Repo! I think). I don’t exactly remember what it was about, and I can’t find it right now.

We’ll see!

I’ve been to vegas recently and there’s little marginal upside to bringing in a celebrity. The investors are not trying to draw people to Des Moines, Iowa. The crowds come no matter what. It’s questionable whether Celine Dion was worth the investment. When the economy started to tank, so did Brad Pitt’s and Clooney’s condo tower deals. There was no benefit to having a celebrity involved. These deals are more vanity investments than profit makers for the investors. But, if someone wants to pay for her to show up, good for her.

From her standpoint, I just don’t see what she’s going to do. Will/can she carry an hours long stage show? Will she do the Pam Anderson magician’s asst gig? (How’s Pam’s career going?) Is she really just going to “host” parties? Again, that’s not much different than the aging athletes of yesteryear. You’re right, we’ll just wait and see. More power to her, but a Vegas gig seems strange.

( She’s also selling sparkling wine in a can, so I don’t think it matters if it’s “upscale.”)

IF Paris inked a Vegas deal, you can bet it will be high class and very expensive. Many well known celebs have had successful Vegas runs, so why not Paris.

And the Prosecco champagne is very good, don’t knock it till you try it.
My guess would be that Paris owns 5% stock in Prosecco, which seems to be the customary percentage the Hiltons ask for in business.

But we’ll just have to wait how it all pans out for Paris. We know this much though, Paris does everything with great flair and style.

‘nother thought –

since Lampoon seems to be serious about giving Paris an award they deem “equal or better to the woman of the year award” they wil most likely make her an honorary member on the steps of the Lampoon castle.
At least I hope that’s what it is.

so i’m with david, why make a “serious career announcement” at something like that?

please, she’s needs better PR people, i mean really why even go to the lampoon event under those circumstances?
