New Poll: 3% of American Public Believes Paris Hilton Has Improved Her Reputation

According to a new poll, conducted by Parade.com, 3% of the media-brainwashed American public believes that Paris Hilton has improved her reputation. I wonder how all of them made up their opinion when all they read in magazines and hear on TV is a bunch of fake and negative articles and stories.

Nicole Richie won the most votes with a well-deserved 43%.

The most-improved reputation (according to Parade.com’s Summer Pop Culture Poll):

2. Mel Gibson 22%
3. Tom Cruise 21%
4. Britney Spears 9%
5. Paris Hilton 3%
6. Lindsay Lohan 2%

i mean.. i dont exactly see how Nicole deserves top honours. all she did was have a baby and stop going out to red carpet events (she did attend a few.. but none compared to a few years ago).
Mel Gibson I agree with.
Tom Cruise.. he is scum.

but Paris at number 5?! thats ridiculous.

Nicole had some serious drug related issues a few years ago. Now, we barely hear from her because she has “calmed” down. Some were questioning how she could raise a baby with all the problems she had.

nicole has also been avoiding paris in public and has benefited from that (plus of course the whole baby thing). i said all along her avoiding paris was a PR move, and it has worked. but, i still think it makes nicole a shitty friend.

as for all the girls on the list, they’re also just growing up…natural cycle. media is moving onto the next crop of younger “it” girls. we’ll see them exhault some while bashing others. they always have to have good girls and bad girls to make their stories interesting.

I think Paris will probably morph into something like JLo celebrity status.
She won’t be seen club hopping alone, but she will be seen at events with Benji .They’re rock royalty.
Plus she will be doing individual projects, plus her other businesses – plenty of things to keep her busy,rich, and in the public eye.
But the media- created “scandals” will be mostly gone.

Ditto for Nicole. She seems to like to play things closer to the vest and out of public scrutiny.
But of course, envious so-called reporters will always try to make up a few stories.

Like last weekend, when they wrote that Nicole was involved in a brawl which never happened.
The writer evidently did not realize that WASTED SPACE is owned by the Madden brothers and Pink’s ex.
Or maybe they knew and did not care.

Someone mentioned yesterday that TMZ called Nicole a talentless media-whore.
These people are relentless and it’s an occupational hazard for celebs nowadays.
But most sane people do not pay much attention to trashy web sites and the comments there, so Paris and Nicole will do just finein the long run.

Nicole Richie definitely does not deserve top honors in my opinion. And Mel Gibson, I can’t stand him after he made those hateful and racist statements a bit ago. Those two in particular I don’t understand how they’re ahead of Paris. But whatever. The media will ALWAYS be against Paris…

I totally understand why Nicole won the first place. She has gone clubbing like 2 times since Harlow was born, we barely hear about her, she has just gone home to take care iof her baby, and work with her jewerly line, clothing line, the appereance in Chuck, her upcoming reality…

Paris gets paid to show up at events, promotion and advertisemen are part of her business.
She obviously won’t go away, which is what haters would like but that won’t happen.
Besides, if she changes too much she won’t be Paris. Flash and glitz are part and parcel of Paris.
She does not have to “change” to suit anyone. A 27 year old woman has the right to be herself.

Paris works, Nicole Richie does not. Nicole’s just famous for being Lionel Richie’s daugher and starring on “Simple Life”. Paris acts, sings, models, and is a business woman. So yeah Paris definitely deserves to be ahead of Nicole I think. In fact I can’t think of 1 single thing/project Nicole has done outside of/besides “Simple Life”.

Nicole acts, models, sings and is a business woman too. She hasn´t released her album yet, but there is her demo Dandelion where you can hear her sing. She has her film Kids In America, modeled for several runways, besides being the image for Jimmy Choo a while back ago. She is developing her jewerly line House Of Harlow next month, besides her sunglasses and clothing line in a near future.

you’re right nicole has done many things. i think the point folks were making is that it’s relative because paris does more. nicole owes paris for her break on simple life. difference is that nicole has her dad as a feel-good pr image machine. whereas paris is from a business family, not an entertainment family and given the extreme right-wing nature of america today, there is an anti-wealthy sentiment in much of the same segment of society that is associaed with the right wing and religous right, so they are very critical and unforgiving of paris.

bottomline for me anyway is that i think nicole has done good things, but less than paris, however, she has redeemed herself to the public by using her dad very well and by having a baby, both very media savy PR moves that have postioned her in the “good girl” category with the hyper-religious folks that are so judgemental against young girls who don’t comform. even if she didn’t get pregnant on purpose ( i don’t think so), she has worked it really well. also, both her and joel have skillfully played the god-card as well. they are getting good pr advice, following it and it shows.

for me, i don’t care about polls. I just think it shows how stupid people are…at least the ones who respond because either they are easily fooled by media hype, or lack some basic critical reasoning skills, or both.

i’ll still be a paris fan more than i am a nicole fan. I don’t blame nicole for wanting to improve her image (yes, i’m repeating myself) i just don’t like her throwing paris under the bus as a component of that strategy. it’s not necessary and it’s disloyal.

Paris is famous because of the Simple Life, and all the other things she has done. If anybody’s going to make fun of celebrities, they should make fun of Kim Kardashian, who’s only famous because she’s the daughter of OJ’s attourney, and Paris’s friend at a time. Other than Paris, I despise rich people, mostly the ones who are famous for little reason.

By the way I find that Nicole looks cute…I just wanted to say that. When I hear about her it reminds me of Paris though, and how hopeless I am.
