Nicole Richie’s latest strange comment on Paris Hilton

Nicole Richie is promoting a new book, and she recently did an interview with USA Today’s Craig Wilson. When the interviewer asked her if she still keeps in contact with Paris Hilton, this is what she replied:

“I don’t speak about her.”

I kinda understand her comment because it’s really annoying to get asked about Paris all the time when she’s doing her thing and it’s obvious they are not real friends, Paris wasn’t even on her bachelorette party and it says a lot.
Nicole is a mother now and she is over her old life and she don’t want to be near drugs (I guess it’s hard to be around drugs if you have been on it for a while and you are clean) and Paris has unfortunately still friends who use it and she’s doing it sometims by herself, so they are too different now and they just can’t be friends for now.
But I love both of them and I hope one day they can be friends again.

It seems that she wants to separate herself from Paris. Maybe it bugs her that people still see her as a sidekick, but she could have said something more in the lines of “we still talk to each other, she’s a … person/friend.” I’m sure that’s what Paris would’ve said about her.

“I don’t speak about her” doesn’t sound very nice.

I think maybe they still talk occasionally, but they’re certainly not close friends anymore.

If not for Paris,noone would know who she is. People could go on about how she’s Lionel Richie’s daughter so she would be famous anyway but it’s not true, he has other kids noone has heard of. Nicole owes her fame to Paris & if not for her noone would even publish her ghost written books.

Benji is 100% correct. Also Paris is so good looking, and Richie is not! I think Richie is ugly. Paris is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

paris tweeted nicole a couple months ago, actually a couple times and nicole responded each time. i have had falling out with bff’s before and its not like im not friends anymore but its just nowhere near the same anymore and all we do now is just say “hi” to each other

nicole began distacning herself from paris when paris went to jail. nicole was facing her own upcoming trial at that time, was newly pregnant and trying to make over her own image. then there was the whole thing about paris being with benjy.

beyond theri lives changing, nicole has actively avoided being with paris, much less being seen with her in public.

i’m sure they may still be privately cordial, but they have not been tight for years. and nicole has said that exact comment about paris in the past.
