GOT YOU ON MY MIND.
CAUSE NOTHING IN THIS WORLD CAN STOP US TONIGHT!
Excerpts from my 4 "Free Paris" postcards sent to Miss Paris Hilton, #9818783, in jail, Lynwood, CA, June, 2007.
(To which Paris responded after she got out.)
Dearest Liberty Belle Paris,
Thoughts are free...
To My No. 1 Top MySpace Friend,
Paris the Heiress, Our Fairytale Princess Model Muse Artist Goddess Heavenly Hell Yes...
What is being done to you is most unfair to the most fair.
Stay Golden. Stay Strong. Stay Sweet. Stay Free.
No prison can hold Paris. Till victory!
PARIS is... beyond compare...
the best album of the past year...
Paris is missed...
Paris, France is the city of love & light.
The Paris that dances is Miss City of Lovelight....
"Paris, Je T'aime..."
"I love Paris every moment
Every moment of the year
I love Paris, why oh why do I love Paris?
Because my love is here..."
No prison can hold Paris...
Down, as long as she has her imagination.
Paris was the artist of the year 2006.
Paris is the new black.
You gotta FIGHT for your RIGHT to PARIS!

I knew she was supposed to be out of course, but this is my first time seeing this.
*I’m a lil verklempt *
Talk amongst yourselves. Here’s a topic: Paris is neither a city nor a plaster. She’s a lady. Discuss.
…OK. I’m back. I’ll try to keep it together.
For Paris.
I simply love her.
& how the sound cuts out at the end of the video
(linked at end of this post -ed.).
How you get to see her walk in slow motion, in silence.
She walks softly at first but then turns the entrance way to the jail into her own personal runway/getaway.
She turns on the high beams...
It’s her show.
Her latest release.
Her graduation.
Her freedom.
She looks at turns...
Healthy. Glowing. Relieved. Grateful.
Excited. Happy. Young. Ecstatic.
Composed.
Magnificent.
…Never better.
This is what Paris' grand exit reminds me of. Of me imagining telling Paris what I see in that video. Cut to a short scene from the movie, Philadelphia Story.
[James Stewart as Macaulay Connor] A magnificence that comes out of your eyes, in your voice, in the way you stand there, in the way you walk. You’re lit from within, Tracy. You’ve got fires banked down in you, hearth-fires and holocausts.
[Katherine Hepburn as Tracy Lord] I don’t seem to you made of bronze?
[Macaulay Connor] No, you’re made out of flesh and blood. That’s the blank, unholy surprise of it. You’re the golden girl, Tracy. Full of life and warmth and delight. What goes on? You’ve got tears in your eyes.
[Tracy Lord] Shut up, shut up. Oh, Mike. Keep talking, keep talking. Talk, will you?
[Mike]*MUAH*
Ma cherie, Paree.
Peace, Love & Understanding.
Oh, Happy Day!
Happy Happy, Joy Joy.
& in the last word of "Braveheart" William Wallace...
"FREEEEE-DOMMMMMM!"
G-L-O-R-I-A…
Glorious!

It was the worst of times, it was the best of times...
Paris, you faced the world and the wall, and came through it all.
TALL.
And it brought you closer to me, and vice versa.
Cheers, dear.

On her MySpace page just now, I excerpted a few of my well wishes from here, and invited to come check out my open card on this page, Miss Paris
Hilton herself.
I added at the end of my comment there...
Keep on shining...
To the Magnificence that is Paris.
Who loves ya, baby?

PPS I am the only one so far who has left any well wishes there on Paris' MySpace, celebrating the anniversary of her freedom.
But maybe now someone somewhere will pick up on it & follow my lead.
But I doubt it.
Maybe I'm just nuts for caring so much about it.
[Movie, SID & NANCY; character, Malcolm McLaren; talking to himself on the sidewalk]
Does it really fucking matter?
...Yes, it does.

Paris walking free, running into her mother's arms and smiling to be free are the only things I want to remember from that whole terrible time. I'm still enraged by the injustice a year on, but those memories of Paris walking out a free woman are still a source of inspiration and comfort when I'm the one needing to be cheered.
