Paris Hilton “VCD Compilation For Retail” (Thai Promo)

This is basically what I received yesterday! It’s the VCD Compilation of Paris Hilton’s debut ablum.

I actually saw this VCD on eBay a few weeks ago. Since I’m huge fan of the debut album, it instantly caught my attention. I noticed that it was produced by Warner Music (Warner Music Thailand, more specifically). So I said to myself that it must be something special and rare.

The guy who was selling it wrote that it contains never-before-seen footage. Of course, when I read that, I got very excited, but then, I realized that they may be the same clips as the ones on the CD/DVD version.

I wanted to post it here, but at the same time, I didn’t want to you guys to bid on it, so I can easily win it lol. Sorry, guys…! I know I’m being naughty, but I’m also being nice for sharing news about this rare VCD! So I’m “nice and naughty”! lol

So I emailed the guy and asked him if the clips are the same ones shown in the the Music Special documentary, which can be found on the CD/DVD version. Unfortunately, he hadn’t seen the documentary, so he didn’t know if “VCD Compilation for Retail” really had never-before-seen clips.

But the Paris music freak that I am, I just couldn’t let it go. Since it was reasonably priced, I decided to buy it. And just yesterday, I received it by mail.

I watched it to see if there are any new footage that I hadn’t seen before, and interestingly enough, there are. They’re more like extra clips that were cut off from the Music Special, probably, due to time constraints. I always knew there were unreleased clips that weren’t shown in the two best documentaries about Paris Hilton, This is Paris and The Music Special. Even though there is very little unseen footage, I’m still very happy to have bought it.

It’s not just that, though. It’s actually a really kewl video collection. As you can see on the picture above, there’s the list of the songs placed in a different order. But don’t be fooled, this is not a CD. It’s a collection of videos in VCD format, that can be played on a regular DVD player.

The first two tracks (Stars Are Blind and Nothing in this World) are the full music videos of both songs.

What follows are ten “music videos” and the time length of each video is approximatively two minutes. Each video is a collection of different clips assembled together. The majority of these clips can either be found in This is Paris or The Music Special, but very few of them (+ never-before-seen pictures) are unseen clips or photos. Unless if my mind is playing tricks on me, I don’t remember seeing them anywhere.

Oh yeah, the last video (track 12) is the “Scoop Paris Hilton”. You know that small clip we saw on PerezHilton.com during the early days of Paris’ music career launch. It’s the clip where you can hear Are You With It, the only one. But I don’t think I’m going to release every video. First, I’m not even sure if it is ok to do that, but I would love to share them all with you.

I think I’m going to release two or three videos that contain the most unseen clips. Watch this video I made with some of the clips:

Oh this is cool! I wish I could’ve got my hands on this! So there is another clip with more Are You With It?

Hhehe I have so many Paris’ albums. I have the Japanese, Thailand, China, and US version of “Paris” sealed. Every time I’m out and about with my friends and see her CD, I can’t help to buy it if it’s under $15.

F— Warner Brothers is all I have to say! I swear they pay more attention to Asia with Paris than they do with the US (which is understandable because she sells better over their) but whatever!

I wish she did more promotions in the US, she only did signings in LA, Miami, and New York. I hope her second album is completely different, she better put in as much advertising she did with Can Can and her shoe line with her CD! I’m hoping she doesn’t keep visiting the same cities and keeps switching off with each product. Come to Seattle!

Yeah, Kevin. I have all the singles and both versions, but I’m just missing the one that came with the Heiress fragrance package. There’s also another with the 6 CD singles (someone mentioned it in the other post).

Regarding AYWI, no, it’s the same clip.

What were they supposed to release? The video collection of Paris? What are you referring to?

I think Warner Brothers (and Paris) did a very good job in promoting the album. They really did, I believe. And even though NITW did better in Asia, I don’t think she sold more CDs there.

Ugh, NITW should have been the first single, then Screwed, and finally TIU.

Things would have gone better. Stars Are Blind is a good song but a weak single. If NITW got as much attention as Stars Are Blind did, I promise you her music career would have done a lot better. NITW is just so radio friendly!

The tee’s on shopkitson.com are really cute, I like the Aqua one and the one with 3 Paris going across.

pardon my ignorance, but i only have one paris album…do the different ones released in different countries have different songs, mixes, etc or the same songs/mix & are you’re just collecting…

I agree w/ u kevin about her clothes. I love Kitson i go there all the time and its cool to see her clothing there. There’s a better selection of her clothes there than at Macys. That aqua one is really cute lol. But i dont agree w/ u about stars r blind. I really love that song and i think it was perfect for a lead single cuz it was summer time and that song is so summer. And i even know a lot of Paris haters that like that song.

thank you! whew! there for a second i thought i was a bad fan in not knowing something… cuz if there were different CDs with more songs or mixes, i’d certainly want them! after seeing the clips you posted from your VCD, now i’m getting anxious for more Paris music.
