Paris Hilton, hiding out (and crouching down) in the back of a the Diesel bookstore at the Malibu Country Mart. Why the covert tactics? A bookstore source tells us that the heiress just didn’t want her picture taken by the throng of paparazzi – especially since a local police officer was outside to check out the commotion. Hilton stayed in the store for about 10 minutes, then headed next door to Pet Headquarters, where she browsed through the dog-leash section but left empty-handed. Hilton wasn’t as camera shy in this store, posing for pictures with fellow pet lovers.
