Sarah Silverman Is Not A Hater
Comedian Sarah Silverman regrets poking fun at Paris Hilton on the eve of her June jail stint after watching footage of the MTV Movie Awards.
Silverman, who hosted the awards show, joked about Hilton’s prison term, while the hotel heiress sat awkwardly in the audience.
Cameras captured a hurt Hilton as she squirmed in her seat–just hours before she began her prison sentence for a probation violation at Century Regional Detention Center–and Silverman admits she has felt terrible ever since.
She says, “I thought, ‘She’s got to know there’s going to be a joke about her,’ so I went for it. But then I looked down and saw a man in her face with a camera.
“I was there to be funny and I was, but that doesn’t mean I can’t feel bad about it.”
A forgiving Hilton admits she knows Silverman was just trying to land a few laughs: “She’s a funny comedian and hopefully she won’t be as mean the next time she sees me.”

Yeah, I think Paris was trying to enjoy herself at the show and probably didn’t expect/think/want that to occur. That was kind of mean.

Absolutely uncalled for!
I am completely infuriated! No seriously.
She was trying to enjoy the show. Geez, can you please just let the girl just enjoy the show.
Oh and why wasn’t Nicky there?
I hope karma does not come back around.
Hopefully Paris will be forgiving enough. Well, actually.

It’s great of Paris to be so forgiving and praising. I’d heard before (don’t remember where) that Sarah Silverman didn’t want to do the joke anyway but the organisers or whoever pressured her. I’m glad she has the decency to feel bad about hurting another person’s feelings in that way though.

Yeah, I think Paris was trying to enjoy herself at the show and probably didn’t expect/think/want that to occur. That was kind of mean. And then all the people clapping. That was very wrong.

How come Paris didn’t go with some guy to the MTV awards?

As soon as I saw and heard that Paris was made fun of on the MTV show, I stopped watching it. I didn’t think that was classy of MTV to do, and I said, forget this. When you make someone feel bad, then it ruins the show for those who care about her.

Exactly right, e10! I wish the media would realise that being biased or trashing Paris like that, merely creates bad feeling among her fans. So many articles I see seem to be telling you what to think or showing contempt for the subject matter, rather than letting people form their own opinions. And of course, so many of such reports are inaccurate or from lying “source”s anyway.

Misleading lead-in by hollywood.com. It says Silverman “regrets poking fun.”
That is inaccurate, not what Silverman says at all. “I was there to be funny and I was, but that doesn’t mean I can’t feel bad about it.”
Where does it say that in hindsight, she would not have done it? Nowhere. She had a job to do & she did it the way she thought best. She wishes Paris had not taken it so badly. That’s all.
Sarah “was funny” & that’s what counts in large amounts. She went for the crowd pleasing, most common denominator factor. Her joke was common, despicable, tasteless, cheap, vulgar. That’s Sarah’s shtick. It was also easy, unimaginative, lame, OLD. Not funny.
The crowd reaction was not laughter so much as contempt for Paris. That she is suddenly forced listen in person LIVE, to this same old, lame, Internet blogging now suddenly become flying spit & venom in her direction… You’re about to go to jail! & we’re all so much better than you. I’m surprised they didn’t start singing, “Nananana, nananana, hey hey hey, goodbye…”
They are so much luckier. How many have not driven under the influence? How many have not ever given head? Even done it on tape?
Alluding to “One Night In Paris” is what all the “haters” have done for years, have not stopped doing. It will be 4 years old this October. It is an old tape, released by her slime of an ex-boyfriend. It is not her fault. But she takes the blame.
People want her still in jail, would like to see her dead. She must pay for being a rich bitch, whom the public once secretly admired, but now they’ve grown tired of, so off with her head! They act like this is Paris during the days of the Bastille.
What people don’t get when they talk & treat Paris like Marie Antoinette, a witch, a piece of meat, like dirt, dumb as rocks, is she is very human. She is very sensitive. She’s also glorious, intuitive, funny, an actress, artist, smart, confident. But underneath she’s not so tough. She’s not so mean. She’s more forgiving than most. They hate her for that as well. They hate that they know but won’t admit that she is loving, lovable, fun, a good person who has talent.
She’s got it. Soul. She deserves respect.
Sarah Silverman is wild & outrageous. She also came in @ # 29 on the Maxim Hot 100. She’s not bad. But hot? Meanwhile Paris did not even make the list. How totally absolutely freaking ridiculous.
Wonder if Sarah would admit it? Doubt it.

Believe it or not, there’re still parts of Paris Hilton you haven’t seen! We hear her pancreas is gorgeous!
The critically acclaimed sex tape that made the socialite convict a household name, “1 Night in Paris,” is being re-released in brand new “collectible prison packaging” and featuring over “one hour of never before seen footage.” Guard!
Pass the night vision goggles, please!

LOL. I’ve seen that happen many times.
About “1 Night In Paris” Gets Prison Makeover
I’ve seen this news, but did not report it simply because it is not something which is not promoted or endorsed by Paris. It is simply trashy and evil all the way.

PPS Wonder if Paris’s old pal Alec Baldwin has done any reflecting himself lately.
Remember back in April of 2006…
– When actor Alec Baldwin slammed Paris Hilton for making a sex tape with Rick Salomon, insisting she was “dumb” and should have known better.
‘The cooler’ star claimed he doesn’t find Hilton attractive and was shocked by her lack of common sense.
He explained: “When I did ‘The cat in the hat’ I had a scene with her. She was lovely, very sweet.
“But she decides to make a video with a guy whose lack of ethics wafts off him like cologne, who you can see from 50 feet away is trash? She puts the ‘d in ‘dumb’.”
Well, Mr B., allow me to retort. In April of 2007, one year later after his tirade about Paris…
– But he decides to leave a voice message on an answering machine, a warning full of enraged disgust & contempt for his 11 year-old-daughter, Ireland.
Baldwin called her a “thoughtless little pig,” warned her that “you have insulted me for the last time.
“I don’t give a damn that you’re 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn’t care about what you do.
“This crap you pull on me with this goddamn phone situation that you would never dream of doing to your mother,” screamed Baldwin, “and you do it to me constantly over and over again.”
He went on to say, “You’ve made me feel like shit” and threatened to “straighten your ass out.”
– Well well well. Now you tell me, John Q Public, which is more “dumb”? Which is worse?
Exhibit A: A young, inexperienced adult agrees to allow herself to be filmed by a lover, at his request, to have sex with him on a video tape, she never dreamed at the time would later be released.
I personally see nothing wrong, stupid, immoral at all with this. But I am a gentleman and would never ever release such a tape so a woman is safe with me.
Exhibit B: A very experienced older adult/father lets loose an explosive tirade about his wife and 11-year-old daughter, to that very girl.
That is stupid & bad & unacceptable enough in & of itself. To leave any kind of message like that on answering machine at any time, never mind in the middle of an ongoing divorce, is totally insane. He puts the d, u, m & b, in dumb.
A family law judge was so alarmed after hearing the tape, she temporarily barred Baldwin from having any contact with his child.
As far as I know there have been no legal judgments made toward Paris for the tape.
Indirectly that is. In light of his verdict/sentence, I’m sure Judge Sauer was punishing Paris not so much for her probation violation, but for all the lifestyles of the rich and the famous.
Men!
