Simple Life Series On The Edge Of Being Cancelled?

Bye bye to the Simple Life?

TV Columnist Tom Dorsey is reporting that E! might decide to cancel the Simple Life series.

I don’t know whether or not he’s assuming that just because the ratings went down, it is not a popular show, so he thinks it will be cancelled. I don’t have the latest figures, but I have mix feelings about ending this show. They should renew the concept, I think.

Anyway, I’ll just quote directly from Tom’s article:

Go figure? That’s what E! cable is trying to do when it looks at how the Nielsens took a nosedive for Paris Hilton’s “The Simple Life” when she went to jail. E! executives thought the massive publicity would help and ratings would skyrocket. Instead they fizzled. Network spokesmen told TV Guide the odds are against the series being renewed.

No. That show is a hit. Those two girls are hilarious. Don’t cancel the show E! This concept can go on for a while. It’s original and funny.

That would be so sad! i mean for paris I guess it wouldn’t be that big deal bc she has others things to do and she is famous for others things too but Nicole? she got famous with that show and it wasn’t for it I guess she would only be known as paris bff and a party girl! I hope they won’t cancel it bc than Nicole would have nothing to be famous for anymore!

They should transform it into a normal sitcom series. I think the reality TV concept has become worn out – especially since it seems to be more and more scripted for the last two seasons. Making it into a regular sitcom series would be a step forward. Also for Paris and Nicole – they could work as actresses and gain more acting experience.

You shouldn’t worry about Nicole. She has a book and other projects coming up. She will also release an album and a fragrance, etc. It shouldn’t be a problem for her.

I noticed that Nicole takes a lot more time than Paris when it comes to work.

I think they should modify the concept a bit.

I don’t see how they can realistically do another Simple Life season, what w/Nicole pregnant. Is Nicole going to have time? Is she going to lug the baby around on set?

I agree with PledgeThis. They should go all out, do a sitcom, or a movie. Better story lines & better supporting actors. The set-ups & the surrounding casts on TSL bore me.

Gimme less BS. I want more Paris & Nicole.

Those rumors of a Kelly Osbourne/Kim Stewart spin-off were false. Kelly did a small interview with US Weekly saying that the show was not a spin-off of The Simple Life, and saying that “I’m nothing like those girls”. This was actually in the same edition where Nicole was on the cover with the headline “Yes, She’s Pregnant!”.

I hope they do at least the 6th season… I´m more worried for Nicole I mean she has her book and… oh yeah an unreleased album that may never be out…´She said “I´m about to record an album” since The Simple Life 1!!!!!!! geez and she says all the time, its about to come out and nothing!!!!! I wonder what´s she´s going to do with it, I hope she´s still releasing it even with the pregnacy and the jail rumors…

I love the show i love Paris and Nicole. They just need to take the show on the road again or doit so they are in different situations all the time Nicole and Paris are spontaneous they dont do well on a fixed settings were they actually have to act
