Tre Armstrong And Keyshia Cole Praise Paris Hilton’s Singing
A few other co-stars of Paris Hilton praised her singing in Repo! as they were impressed by her performance.
Choreographer Tre Armstrong who stars in a new movie, which opens this weekend, had this to say about her singing: “I was surprised that she could sing. Honest to God, I will never crack on Paris. I haven’t. From what I heard from what they did, I liked how she sounded.”
Grammy-nominated R&B singer Keyshia Cole adds: “I like the way she sings. I do.”
Now that’s really good to hear, huh?!
However, Armstrong remarks: “She needs development in terms of movement, but it wasn’t a dance movie.”

did they ever hear her without computer enhancement? That bette davis song below is BRUTAL. (There’s another video of her singing in a Miami nightclub around the release of her album. It may actually be worse than the one posted here.)that’s probably why she didn’t/won’t tour. I do beleive the qoute that her dancing also needs work.
I think it’s most interesting b/c in the Dallas video below she says that she does the entertainment projects as a way to promote her brand. Seriously, she would suffer less ridicule if she stuck to products and maybe another reality show.
Whoever dubs her voice should get 5x pay for her last album.

Armstrong’s qoute that he “liked what they did, I liked how she sounded” suggests that he only heard the computer enhanced version. (Britney and others are enhanced also, so Paris isn’t the only one, but he shouldn’t get carried away that she sings well.) Remember, this site posted an article that had Paris being booed during Repo and it was pointed out that they weren’t singing live there. As with most productions, the music had likely been recorded, and mixed, in a studio prior to filming. Not really knocking her, but it’s a stretch to say she can sing. She may put out music that some people like, with the help of computers, which is no crime. However, singing is not one of her talents.
Hopefully that’s not harsh, but it is the truth.

“this site posted an article that had Paris being booed during Repo”
I later corrected it. The booing was part of the filming/movie. They didn’t boo her because of her singing.
I think what she’s thinking is that if her movies and music become very popular and a huge success, her brand will grow bigger, but that was not really how I thinking all along. She’s taking more the role of a businesswoman, thinking more business-wise. I thought music was her true passion, but I think she changed her mind. I guess there are too many projects to concentrate on. It’s a bit disappointing, but not that much because she knows what we like and want.
Paris is not the greatest singer in the world and she doesn’t have to be. I wish they could stop using “computer enhanced technologies” if they are. I always had a sort of version of Paris singing and I think it suits her very well, but I guess it’s a tough career. I believe if she works really hard on it, with the voice has, she has a good potential.

agree they didn’t boo her b/c of her singing. that wasn’t the point of the post. there was “nothing” really to boo b/c the actually singing had already been recorded. therefore, the others didn’t hear her sing live, including a co-star. The point is not whether she was booed, but that they weren’t singing live.

Oh give it a rest miami1. Who annointed You the expert on her singing.
There is a difference between Paris just singing along at a party and Paris actually singing for an album.
How would you know how much her voice was computer enhanced – if any?
Were you there in the studio or are you just parrotting what the other bashers are saying?
After all, Paris is not singing grand opera, it’s just pop music. People will buy it if they like it.
I bought her first CD and I enjoy it a lot ,and I will buy her next CD too.
Clearly,Paris sees herself as an all-around business woman, instead of tying herself down to one genre, so let her have her fun. Paris is Paris.

Jen,
I completely agree. I would bet that today, there is not a single artist who is not “enhanced” when recording for an album. Even “live” performances are enhanced and even dubbed, ie lip-synch if for no other reason, the amount and intensity of the choreography and dance movement in today’s pop genre stage performances. Even a world class endurance athlete couldn’t do all that crazy dancing and still have enough breath, much less vocal control, to sing well. There’s a reason opera singers don’t move much when they sing….the physiology of singing requires body stillness except for those body (vocal tract, etc) parts used to create sound!
and I would hardly think that anyone singing karaoke-style in a club sounds good given the environment.
further, the days of the pure singer-songwriter are pretty much over in todays music. no longer do you have someone just singing with a guitar, piano or whatever instrument and no eletronics what-so-ever involved to boost, amp, enhance or correct the vocals or music. (closest lately has been the acoustic “hey there delilah” by plain white Ts).
in any event, paris tends to like club music and hip-hop, both of which are really all about the beats.

stop hating! and stop mis-quoting people! like tre said – paris CAN sing! and the booing is probably part of the movie you fools! stop misquoting people. she’s not a dancer like tre is, so ya, she probably does need some training, but who doesn’t? pretty sure tre trained a long time to get to where she is.
