Warner Bros. drops Paris Hilton before the release of second album?
In the past, there were plenty of rumours about Paris being dropped by Warner Bros. or Warner Music, but I had showed you guys that they were all false.
Today, another such article popped up, and it was published by NY Daily News, which is an unreliable news site.
According to the article, Heiress Records is no longer associated with Warner Bros. An insider told Daily News that Paris “hasn’t been affiliated with the music giant for ‘months'”. However, If you go on Warner Bros. websites, they are still promoting Paris Hilton as one of their artists.
The article mentions that Paris’ manager confirmed to Daily News that Paris is indeed releasing her second CD on her own label, but wouldn’t comment if she is planning to team up with another major label.
If this true, then it is bad news. No Warner Bros. or major lablel promoting the second album? Not good! Independent Heiress Records is not big enough to promote an album. Powerful Warner Bros. is able to promote and release the album worldwide!

OMG! I hope she didn’t get dropped! Warner Bros did such a good job promoting her album internationally! We need her to be with a major label!
I hope BFF does major promotion with the album too! I’m sure Paris knows what she’s doing thought!

I wouldn’t worry about it until it comes from a reliable source and site.
However, the whole new album thing is odd. There’s usually a recognisable lead up to a new album. We have barely any details. Is it up at sites like Amazon for pre-order yet? An album doesn’t just appear on the week of release like magic. A new single being released is a step in the right direction (even if it’s not exactly an attention grabber – you could hear this song being played and not care which of the many safe pop artists it’s actually by, whereas the singles from the first album were great frakin’ catchy songs), but I still think it would be odd if this album really did come out in just a couple of weeks, like Paris has suggested (unless there’s all of a sudden a big media blitz for it from then until the release).

I think it’s even cooler. Of course I wish success for the new album, but going indie would definitely make people take her more seriously, since they can’t call her pre-fabricated by a money-seeking major label.

Yup, support Paris by doing things all by her own Heiress Records independently. Sounds cool to me, actually.
Don’t care if it’ll be placed on chart of top sales, really, as long as her fans appreciated her effort and she’s doing it out of interest. Still hope others eventually recognized her talent though.
Waiting patiently and wishing all the best for her album! ^^

I agree with almost everything that Django and Mat wrote about the new album and reality show. I really think it’s kewl how we all think alike when it comes to Paris Hilton!
Django, you’re right! The new song is not exactly as catchy as the ones on the first album. You know that it’s not something that Scott would release. However, I still say that the song is a lot better than what many “safe pop artists” are releasing nowadays. I have no clue how “My BFF” is doing on the radio. I don’t even think radio stations are playing the song. It’s a very short song, too. If it’s going to be the first single, Paris should start promoting it, etc. But I have to say it again, the first album was amazing on every level!
Also, I don’t really believe that the above article is accurate. NY Daily News is not reliable. They even quote an “insider”, but don’t reveal the real source. A more believable article should refer to the record label as “Warner Bros Records”, but not just “Warner Bros.” Just pointing out!
I don’t know but we’ll know for sure soon!

Oh yeah! I forgot to say that I watched the first episode, and I must say, I underestimated it. It was definitely a lot better than the Casting Special. The premiere was nicely done! It was also funny and attention-grabbing, but of course, not as close as Simple Life.
Hopefully, the next episodes will be good, too. I’m sure they will. It certainly looks like it’s a project that she took seriously. Just that I’m not exactly into it lol.
Of course, she can’t please everyone! 🙂

i liked the show and the single. it seemed good for a theme song. i want to hear the complete album. but i must say, right now i’m more interested in repo…..
in general, i think paris has so many projects coming out now that it must be hard for her to promote them all to the level they deserve…. so we’ll just have to help her!

oh yeah, and i thought it was pretty funny that 4 of those losers, especially that ridiculous, pie-eyed, goat-mouthed erin, got the boot so quick!
go paris!

I just bought a magazine with Paris’ new perfume ad, the picture is really pretty and the bottle is really pretty too! The bottle is definitely the best out of the five, Can Can has the best “cover”, and “Paris Hilton” smells the best.
Fairy Dust smells all right on the paper, it smells like Juicy Couture. Its very floral. I’ll 100% grow to love it

Ps: I agree with you, Enkil, when it comes to the length of the song, it’s really short for a single. I think she’s releasing other song as lead single, because “My BFF” is good\catchy, but I don’t think it is actually single material.

Mat M.,
I’ll upload the first episode. I didn’t really want to do this, but I guess it’s ok. I’ll upload the other episodes as soon as they’re out. In addition, I’m also going to post a little surprise, if it works out. 😉
juju!
It was obvious that the blonde girl wanted to be and look like Paris, but she seemed like a nice person. I liked her better than the other brunette girl (Kiki?). I feel suspicious about the other girl. Didn’t like her attitude.

yeah i agree that girl michelle who was eliminated was a little too much of a paris-copy-cat.
i still think erin was a hoot when her the other 3 bootees arrived at the airport. erin thought she was at virgin atlantic and on her way to london, hello? read the sign it clearly said virgin america. wanh-wah-waaaah!
i think for the most part the cast has some interesting charachters with potential for silly TV moments, but I am surprised there aren’t more guyz.
enkil, why weren’t you there?

I like surprises.
🙂
Thank you very much for uploading it. I was actually wondering if they put it on Overdrive, like they did with the casting special, but this is actually better!
Anyway, I understand why you didn’t want to upload it, but I’m living in South America and it takes circa 6 months after the final episode for any programme to be broadcasted here (if actually). And the links will also be down soon. At least before a DVD comes out, that’s for sure.

juju,
I could never go on TV like that. It’s not in my personality to be a reality TV contestant, by far lol.
And why weren’t you there? lol
Mat M.,
You’re welcome! 🙂
I was thinking the other day that maybe, one day we should do get together and hang out together. I suggest everyone to come to Montreal! lol Sucks that we live far away from each other!
